Geek Bucket List

There are so many geeky things I would like to accomplish in my life. I’ll always be adding to the list, and as I complete them, I’ll update the information. I’ll also add in the stories, so you can come along for the ride.

In no particular order:

  • Attend a voodoo ceremony (completed June 2000)
  • Visit the Globe Theater (completed June 2001)
  • Visit Stratford Upon Avon (completed June 2001)
  • Visit London (completed May – June 2001)
  • Stay in the Stanley Hotel (completed January 2012)
  • Go on Jeopardy
  • Call in to Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me
  • Meet various celebrities: Kevin Smith (completed October 1999), Robin Thorsen and Amy Okuda (completed March 2012), Loni Love (completed October 2009), Skottie Young (completed April 2013), William Shatner (completed March 2014)
  • Solve an NPR Sunday Puzzle and submit my answer (completed January 2014)
  • Finish writing a novel (completed May 2012)
  • Publish a novel
  • Visit all 50 states (25/50 completed)
  • Visit all 7 continents (2/7 completed)
  • Meet Stephen King
  • Complete my zombie survival plan (in progress)
  • Go to a horror convention
  • Visit the Harry Potter theme park
  • See Hedwig and the Angry Inch on stage
  • See Wicked on stage
  • See a Broadway play
  • See The Woman in Black on stage (completed May 2000)
  • Cosplay Doctor Who
  • Go on Wipe Out
  • Solve a crime
  • Drive in England
  • Visit every Presidential library (2/15 completed)
  • Go on a ghost/vampire/serial killer walking tour
  • Guest on an internationally known podcast: Starbase 66 (completed in 2009), Horror Etc. (completed in 2012), Books You Should Read (completed in 2008)
  • Attend Comicon
  • See Harry Potter Puppet Pals (completed August 2012)
  • Make each Halloween as geeky as possible: Zombie (2010), Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas (2011), Rainbow Dash (2012), Fionna (2013)
